While both services are wireless, our network is local to Garland County. Our radio signals typically travel less than 5 miles to our towers, while satellite system signals have to travel through the atmosphere, from 180 miles to 22,300 miles to the satellite and then back to earth. That’s why satellite system users commonly experience latency or delays when connecting to the web. Varying weather conditions will also interfere with the satellite signal in the same way that TV satellite signals can be interrupted. A nearby tower that provides access will be far more reliable than any satellite connection plainly due to distance . There really is no comparison when it comes to performance vs a satellite connection. There are newer satellite service available but they are not with out flaw.
